 Alex,

 actually i did the test with two xo's and was able to reproduce this bug.
 Sharing was actually broken in this case for chat and web-activity as
 well. What i noticed was that on one laptop i was only able to see people
 of my local network. I deleted the my .sugar and logged in again and it
 has been fixed since then.

 Deleting was a too quick action, so if you see the same issue and could
 tell us what for example is listed in .sugar/default/config in the server
 line jabber.laptop.org is listed that would be helpful and please keep the
 .sugar around for further inspection.
