 libabiword can read and write almost any imaginable document format out
 there. This can be massively useful when used for our full text indexing
 support: just use libabiword for all formats you want to index, let
 libabiword convert them plain text, and index that! This gives you support
 for all files in one go (ODT, Doc, RTF, WPD, and even PDF if needed).

 Currently we do not have a proper mechanism to use this functionality from
 Python based code. Utility code and bindings should be written to  allow
 that
