Comment(by smcv):

 scope-change-support.diff is *not* included in Guillaume's review, and has
 not been well tested due to lack of UI support for changing scope. If the
 UI's going to allow upgrade from invite-only to public, or indeed
 downgrade the other way, this patch or something like it will be needed.
