 There is no shortage of advocacy on
 the benefits of the Dvorak keyboard
 layout and on teaching children
 Dvorak instead of Qwerty (see for
 example http://dvzine.org/ ).  I don't
 know how this will relate to
 Thai/Arabic/etc keyboards (probably
 not) but if any Qwerty keyboards
 are to be shipped anywhere then
 Dvorak ought to be at least
 considered.  I found that
 "setxkbmap dvorak" typed into a
 Terminal (or added to ~/.xinitrc)
 works a treat, although of
 course it would be more helpful to
 a child if the physical keyboard
 is printed in the Dvorak layout.
