#4555: MIME types introduce inconsistency
---------------------------+------------------------------------------------
 Reporter: AlbertCahalan | Owner: jg
     Type: defect | Status: new
Priority: normal | Milestone: Never Assigned
Component: distro | Version:
 Keywords: | Verified: 0
---------------------------+------------------------------------------------
When bringing in files via USB, you get only a file extension.
When exporting files to USB, only the file extension will get used.

The inconsistency is trouble. It is bad for security and it
introduces a lossy remapping where none is needed.

Note that, with MacOS X, even Apple has conceeded that file
type info is normally determined by file name extension.

Fix: use file extensions throughout sugar

 Extra benefit: numerous interoperability, inport/export,
 and porting problems go away.
