Comment:

 Richard shown this to me once. It's probably not the same of #2804,
 although maybe related.

 It does not seem to appear only on specific combinations of kernel and EC
 code.  Additionally, it does not seem to be "modal": you can reproduce it
 at will.

 I propose a hack session with dilinger and smithbone to see if we can
 squash this one together.
