#4485: Activation software doesn't have copyrights or licenses

 The antitheft/activation/security software at:

   http://dev.laptop.org/git?p=users/cscott/olpcrd-rootskel;a=blob;f=src-
 olpc/antitheft.py;hb=HEAD

doesn't contain any copyright notices, or licenses. Related software
nearby may also be in the same boat:

   http://dev.laptop.org/git

(Also, I wonder if software shipping in the release should be stored in
private user directories. It kinda reminds me of having the source in
/usr/ken/src from the old, old, old days.)

I suggest, following the guidelines of the Free Software Foundation, that
if you want to make these GPL software, you should use the latest version
of the GPL. As copyright owner, OLPC can distribute its code under any
license it likes, without violating GPLv3. Applying GPLv3 would prevent
third parties from taking it and using it as a DRM system, which they
could otherwise do merely by a policy choice of declining to provide the
keys that OLPC is commited to giving to end-users.
