Comment:

 Hmmm...  Looking at this patch, me wonders if a library routine should be
 available to handle most data transfers.  The last part of this patch is
 several hundred lines, which seems like a lot to ask for something
 conceptually simple...

 Note that containerization really would like us to be using tubes.  If you
 can make code freeze, it seems this would be good for FRS.
