For the part regarding stable package builds, we'll have a meeting
tomorrow at 3PM EDT on #olpc-meeting where hopefully we'll analyze
possible solutions.
To add explicit approval to our process, we may want to leverage the
existing Fedora infrastructure for approval of package updates. It allows
admins to bless packages progressively until they find their way into
stable builds.
For the transparency point, I think m_stone has already done some work.
What's missing to see some changelogs appear in olpc-devel@ ?
The only point that remains unaddressed seems to be the "strong editorial
control on what goes inside the distribution". In my mind, that
translates to one dedicated build engineer, but it could also take other
more distributed forms.
