Comment:

 This regexp still isn't strong enough.  Most importantly, requiring
 "http://" just doesn't cut it anymore.  I don't think I've typed that into
 a browser, chat client, or email in years.  I would say that HTTP should
 be the assumed protocol unless otherwise specified.

 Additionally, rendering the links in blue won't fly.  My XO color happens
 to be blue, and when I finally got one to "appear" it was invisible.  The
 links need to remain white, but receive an underline to indicate their
 status.
