This is B4 hardware with a joyride build from a few days ago, freshly
installed. It's about 85 degrees F here.
I started the browser, visited the wiki in a failed/confused attempt to
get some activities, then left the browser running with 1/4 to 1/3 of the
donut used.
I ran and shut down chat.
I started the Terminal activity and left it running.
I started the Measure activity. I spent hours messing with it. I left it
running.
Back in the Terminal activity, I started to feel the command prompt
lagging horribly. Delays got to be many seconds between keystrokes, with
extra delay if I went away for a bit. (so, looks like memory outage rather
than CPU) The donut display showed about 1/3 free.
I then got a black square on my screen, which you'll see when I attach a
photo. If I remember right, I was viewing the donut when I got this. It
remains; nothing draws over it.
I then started top in the Terminal activity. While I was writing down the
values not buried under the black square, I suddenly got graphic symbol
characters all over the display. By this I mean the line-drawing
characters found in the VT100 and PC OEM character sets, along with other
similar stuff.
I did Alt-Ctrl-Fn-2 to reach a regular console. The black square does not
show. Switching back to X does not restore the black square, but the
Terminal activity corruption remains.
