Comment:

Can we get a memory test into a special version of OFW or the kernel ?

What has been suggested to either rule out or implicate memory corruption
is to boot the kernel only using half the memory in the system, then upon
every suspend, copy the working memory to the unused half. On every
resume, the copy is compared with the working memory.

I have already coded up and tested a user-space memory test program, which
grabbed a huge chunk of memory, filled it once with a known pattern, then
tested continuously upon resume for changes to that memory. It never
indicated an error in the wild (it did catch errors deliberately
 introduced to test the tester...)
