Comment:

 Can someone please verify that I'm not overlooking something obvious?  The
 addresses above have two bits swapped; that is, 0xcf08 == 1100 1111 0000
 1000, and 0xce88 == 1100 1110 1000 1000.  I'm wondering whether cjb is
 seeing (hardware) memory corruption.
