Comment:

 OK, I've discussed this again with Pentagram, and we feel that the current
 size is acceptable for 1.0.  The recent improvements seen in the visual
 style of palettes, with proper spacing and bold type where appropriate
 assists in making the type far more readable as well.

 If sufficient feedback from the field and/or scientifically conducted
 studies indicate that this is still a problem we can reconsider the design
 specifications.
