 IIRC, it's the same max size as D-Bus for the futur protocol but not sure
 about the current/old one.

 With the current protocol the maximum raw data size is about 256 * 1400
 bytes thus about 30kb. I'm not sure what the overhead in salut currently
 is, if we're still using base64 for tubes then you'll be left with about
 22kb of real space.

 The new protocol will indeed allow for messages at least as big as the max
 size of a D-Bus message. (which iirc uses 28 bits for size (about 270mb),
 but you really don't want to use such big messages on an olpc anyways)
