Comment:

 This sounds like it might be related to CoW link-breaking to me. Just as
 speculation, if the reporter used olpc-update and rsync got caught in some
 kind of loop when it encountered joystick.ko, it could have produced lots
 of copies of that file as it repeatedly tried to download the file but
 failed due to a link-breaking failure.

 Can we confirm or deny any parts of this speculation?
