 I have seen this as well. Richard said it is likely that the polling of
 battery life was turned off during suspend/resume testing so the
 inidicator on the home page doesn't get updated.

 The real question is do we actually get any indication of low battery
 before it just shuts off? I did not catch a red led inidication when mine
 shut off.
