Comment:

 On my mac, in mozilla, if you look in window page info, you can see the
 css file used to control the appearance of this page. It is called
 chrome://global/skin/netError.css.

 The global locale for xulrunner is located in
 /usr/lib/xulrunner-1.9xxx/chrome, in the en-US jar file. It might be
 possible to override or change this to eliminate the white box?
 (put this back into FRS to see if we can get this analysis to decide if
 there is something easy to do or not)
