 Assume an access point without a WEP key. It will show as a plain circle.
 If you configure it to have a key, the XO remembers it doesnt require and
 tries to connect without.  The same happens if you change the key.
 You need to delete the networks.cfg file and then reboot. Only removing
 the file want do.

 The var/log/messages is the same also for bug 4191
