 This looks like a dup of #3610.

 When one pushes the power button, what follows is (616 c28 B4):
  - (immediately) screen flashes, and goes back to dark.
  - (pause) green power led comes on
  - (pause) red power led comes on (when it does)
  - (sometimes pause) screen lights up with ofw boot cruft (currently gray
 with text).  The delay between red and screen lighting is variable.
 Sometimes they happen simultaneously.

 While the delay between red and boot screen is variable, I've not noticed
 led come on significatnly after the boot screen lights up.  So that,
 rather than the initial flash, seems the threshold for being able to say
 that something odd was observed.

 If the xo at least gets into the ofw screen, and the red light hasn't come
 on, and the machine dies, then it seems the problem has been observed.
