Comment:

 We talked about this briefly at the design meeting the other day.  We
 determined that since escape will have a number of uses internal to
 activities (hide a palette, cancel an operation, etc.) we don't want it to
 accidentally close the activity.  Regardless of the auto-saving feature,
 it could interrupt ongoing activities which depend on a persistent
 connection, such as games or real-time.

 As such we think that some combination such as ctrl-esc (and perhaps also
 ctrl-w and ctrl-q, which are standards on other systems) should stop the
 current activity.  We should definitely get rid of the alt-c binding,
 which doesn't fit into the purpose of the alt key defined in the HIG.

 Marco, are these bindings something you're in charge of?
