Comment:

 Items we'd like in the control panel initially are now in the wiki page in
 bold.

 Simon, this may be best done in two stages: the python to do the requested
 operations, (generally modifying files), and the UI

 Eben, please get Simon something simple.  It's pretty much for now just
 on/off and text entry fields, and a few buttons.
