Comment:

 By "keyboard close button" do you mean the escape key?  I'd like to push
 this to Sugar, having the shell send SIGTERM to the activity process, but
 if we're really talking about the escape key, it's complicated by the fact
 that another control (a palette, perhaps?) would handle the press,
 escaping out of the dialog or control but not stopping the activity
 itself.

 Or, perhaps the activity can likewise ignore the SIGTERM when appropriate?
 That seems sketchy, though.
