Comment(by AlbertCahalan):

 I had trouble on a morning with mild condensing fog.

 The device seems to depend on having fingers that have thin dry skin, like
 those of an office worker in an air-conditioned building (the normal end-
 user for a regular laptop). Hand sweat varies by person; some people's
 hands get moist in warm weather.

 Finger pressure seems to encourage sweat. Pressure is a very
 understandable natural reaction; letting up on the pressure goes against
 all a kid knows about dealing with normal things that won't budge.

 Consider adding a strongly hydrophobic coating if there isn't one already.

 See bug #4055 for a problem with the touchpad being smaller than the
 markings. I've seen kids miss the touchpad. It's really small.
