Comment:

 Looks like two completely different issues was confused here. The problem
 with the browser plugin is not system volume but the totem specific
 volume. For some reason we was not consistently reading the default volume
 from gconf. I pushed a patch which hardcode it to 50, it will be in the
 next trial-3 build. Alex tested it and he say it works. I got approval by
 jg and kimquirk on irc.
