#4027: Some application-specific notices are instead broadcast
--------------------------------------------------------+-------------------
Reporter: bemasc | Owner: jg
Type: defect | Status: new
Priority: low | Milestone: Never Assigned
Component: distro | Version: Development build as of this date
Keywords: telepathy sharing activity hellomesh sugar | Verified: 0
--------------------------------------------------------+-------------------
While running a sugar-jhbuild instance on the collabora.co.uk server, my
activity "Acoustic Tape Measure" stopped working. I looked at the logs,
and noted that the activity had received a notification that its name had
been changed to "HelloMesh". At that moment, morgs had started an
instance of HelloMesh on the same server, and the creation announcement
had somehow "leaked" into my private channel.
This behavior has only been seen once. It represents a major violation of
Sugar's networking abstractions. In the wild, it is unlikely to do more
than crash activities, unless it can be parlayed into a security bug.
