Comment:

 I believe that Q2C28 has fixed this. If the image is corrupt, the XO will
 not go ahead with the upgrade, and it seems that it does not wipe the nand
 beforehand. I'm guessing this is the case because I tried upgrading with a
 corrupt image, the process was stopped, and when I put a different image
 on, the datastore from before was still there.

 I'm going to set it as fixed.
