Comment(by marco):

 The time the block I pasted above is taking seem to depend on the number
 of entries in the datastore. It's taking ~ 0.1 for 0 entries, 1.8 for 160.
 I'm not sure if it grows linearly but if it does we have a problem there,
 independently from what cause Carla problem (HoboPrimate issue might have
 been caused just by having a bunch of entries in the Ds, for example).
