Comment:

 I believe this problem is the same as the one that we saw in testing...
 for builds around the 580-590, if the journal did not know how to read
 items in the journal (especially when trying to restart a tamtam activity
 since tamtam changed dramatically); then the journal would just show a
 white page; no back button, nothing.

 In build 608 (approx), this was fixed so that if the journal doesn't know
 how to read an old item, it will show the back button; not a white page.

 If you upgrade with a clean install, there are no items that the journal
 doesn't understand so it will 'fix' the symptoms.

 IF this is the bug, then it is fixed and closed in 608+. Assigning it back
 to Phillip to check.
