 There are variations of this. We not always have a dead USB as a result
 (though it is common). We may be dealing with a main factor that manifests
 differently depending on the building (for instance, joyride builds die
 faster).

 In the first machine that we investigated (see #4476) everyone agreed (I
 believe) that we were dealing with hardware (USB) problems. Since them,
 this case does not seem so isolated. But I see at least two big branches
 here: USB dies, USB does not die.
