 opened record; took a picture.
 opened gmail (from gmail icon); logged in started a new mail msg; clicked
 on 'attach a file'

 It took a really long time, but eventually opened the journal. I almost
 gave up and clicked around a bit (trying to figure out what it was doing)
 so I might have somehow caused the journal to crash.

 In any case, the journal list showed up, I chose the recorded picture.
 Then back at the gmail message I couldn't type text into the main message
 area (again, I think something was hanging up the processor)... I hit
 send, though and it actually did eventually send the message wtih the
 attachment.

 The journal icon in the sugar home screen was gone and there is no way to
 get it back. I'll have to reboot. I had to mount the USB stick by hand to
 get the log off it.
