Comment:

 Michael, Tomeu, what what about something like reap.patch? Basically we
 reap only the processes started by the activity and leave the others
 alone.

 The two alternatives that I can think of are:

  * Reap the process lazily when we start another activity (like rainbow).
  * Intermediate children hack (like dbus and glib).
