 This has been extensively discussed between MaMaMedia and OLPC, with Eben
 being up to date with all the facts, if I'm not mistaken.

 The Creative Center, as it is now, has very little to add to the XO user
 experience, but the long term plan is to make it much more. Problem is
 that the basic functionality will always pass through launching other
 activities (not only those from mamamedia) so it has been identified as
 very important to make this work with Rainbow. At the present time, that
 is the reason for activity; to make sure this is not left out of the
 Rainbow specs, making it hard or impossible to implement in the future.
