 The error noted above, when verified against the es.po file targets the
 following lines:

 po/es.po:256: duplicate message definition...
 po/es.po:226: ...this is the location of the first definition
 }}}
 Checking po/es.po, the lines are:

 225:#~ msgid "I drew with:"
 226-#~ msgstr "Dibujado con:"

 255:msgid "I drew with:"
 256-msgstr "Dibujado con:"
 }}}
 The problems I find with the stated problem are:
 1) it's referring to the msgstr lines, not the msgid -- something that
 afaik, is perfectly valid to have duplicates in the translations.
 2) the 'first definition' line has a '#' which denotes a comment line...
 true, the '~' doesn't seem to belong in the
 [http://www.gnu.org/software/gettext/manual/gettext.html#PO-Files PO spec]
 but there are several other files that have 'commented out' strings making
 me wonder if this is not some other problem.
