 The second instance actually is shared, as you can verify by inspecting
 !SugarLauncher's current sharedActivity.  But we need to change the icon
 in the nav bar, that's true. Simply sending #startSharing won't work
 because we do not want to open a nebraska server in the joining activity.
 And auto-opening badges for joined buddies is left to do.
