 This is a bit confusing...

 I thought that the reason was due to the POTs, but only journal-
 activity.es.po has the offending CHARSET, even if all the POT files have
 it unset.  I just changed journal-activity.es.po to UTF-8 and pushed it.

 "pseudo.po" are script crafted. I'll try to review it and correct it, but
 in the meantime they may be zapped without prejudice.

 If this fixes things, close the ticket...
