Comment(by bemasc):

 Tested version 6 today at the MIT football field*.  Measurement worked
 perfectly up to 30 m (100 ft), with at most 1 cm of variability, and
 usually none.  Measurement worked occasionally up to 40 m, giving spurious
 answers except during lulls in the wind.

 I did not try anything fancy to increase range, because it was too cold
 for programming.

 *: the MIT football field actually doesn't have yard markings, so it
 served only as a big flat place to put the XOs.
