 the sharing scope should be modifiable with a smaller subpart of the menu
 interface than the current wide tab, and should be accessible all the time
 (without having to find the 'activity' tab to toggle that setting)

 I recommend using a set of icons to indicate sharig that are themselves no
 wider than the sidebar in which xos you share with appear; and having it
 either show up in the same frame or show up in the top  bar which would be
 covered by the frme -- all the time, regardless of tab.
