 The recommended way to localize Python activities is via the gettext
 module.  Code built with this module can then be used to generate a POT
 file (required for translation).  There is a mechanism for this built into
 the sugar bundlebuilder via './setup.py genpot'.  This mechanism requires
 the xgettext binary, part of the gettext package.  This utility is not
 present in the build (as of joyride-259), preventing activity authors from
 preparing for localization using only the XO.  See #4593 for an example of
 a developer stymied by this problem.
