Comment(by smcv):

 The -new-protocol branch has now been reviewed and merged; all OLPC-
 specific changes are incorporated in the upstream version, except the
 ip4-address property (which we wanted to remove for Update.1, but I think
 it's probably too late now, again).

 The upstream version of Salut has the following changes relative to the
 -olpc1.0 branch:

 * Fix a memory leak where bytestreams were not unreferenced when closed
 (cassidy)
 * Use guint rather than int to iterate GArrays (should have no practical
 effect since GArrays of size >= 2GB aren't feasible, but more correct)

 * Cosmetic changes (comments, whitespace, removing commented-out code)
