Comment:

 I've recently been doing lots of platform work like this, so I volunteer
 to split these boot speedup patches and put bits of them in the upstream
 initscripts RPM in due time.

 That would be after Update1 and maybe also after Update2. Scott, if it's
 ok with you too, please reassign the bug to me.
