 I just had a similar result tonight on B4, Q2D03, build 616, while riding
 the bus in San Francisco.  I'd taken the XO to a party, where various
 people played with it, but there were no open access points.  On the way
 home I looked for access points, and the network screen showed only myself
 and a Write icon (!!!).  Not even the three Mesh circles.

 Now it's home and sitting next to a B1 that's on Ethernet and Mesh -- and
 the B4 can't see the B1.  The B1's network screen shows 3 mesh circles,
 many locked access points, a few unlocked, plus tons of XO's on Jabber
 (and occasional floating icons for applications, like a camera).
