Comment:

 I think we should follow Read's example, placing the zoom-out button on
 the left.  When this was discussed briefly on IRC, I noted that Apple's
 Preview used +-, but in the new Leopard release they've actually reversed
 that to -+.  At the time, whomever I  spoke with actually mentioned that
 they saw several other apps using -+ as well.

 In any case, I think -+ is the right choice because 1) it maps directly to
 the order of the plus and minus shortcut keys which should be bound to
 them and 2) it reflects the ordering of the zoom icons which are hard
 coded into the system and printed on the keyboard, with the close-up being
 the rightmost.

 I'll keep this ticket open until I get this specified correctly in the
 HIG.
