 The disagreement is not with me - the gstreamer folks used stuff which has
 deliberately not been supported in V4L2 in general.  By spending some
 time, I could probably get past that; it requires preparing some patches
 to the V4L2 core and arguing for their inclusion.

 It is worth noting that bayer output is completely untested, since I
 currently have no way to display it.  Bringing in the new gstreamer would
 provide that testing platform, clearly, but there is a real chance that a
 couple of rough edges would require filing down before things would work
 well.
