 Why shouldn't we enforce it?  One of the principles of a well behaved
 system is that one client shouldn't be able to mess things up for another
 one, right?  If one activity fails to obey the rules and many others
 subsequently break because the preview isn't in the standard format
 expected, something stronger is needed, I feel.
