#1590: Battery release latch no longer springing on B2 machine

 Priority: normal | Milestone: Untriaged
Component: distro | Version: BTest-2 Hardware

------------------------------------------+---------------------------------
Seeing a hardware bug with my BTest2 laptop. Machine is handed around
quite a lot, don't know when precisely the damage occurred:

     * Battery latch (escape-button-side) is no longer springing back into
 place on release
o Result is that when the latch is left "open" and the laptop is
held in the air without support for the battery (i.e. when picked up) the
laptop loses power and shuts down instantly.
     * Other battery latch is still springing back properly, flipping it
back quickly dozens of times doesn't cause the spring to fail

Obvious work-around is to manually shift the latch to the closed position
after insertion, but children may not know to do that and may simply start
losing their work as the machine shuts down instantly.
