 If there is contact with the touchpad during power-up, it will calibrate
 badly.
 You can reproduce this easily by triggering a controller reset (all four
 corner keys on the keyboard, Fn last) while placing your hand flat on the
 touchpad.

 We should see if we can find a way to characterise and recognise this
 behaviour from the touchpad when this has happened, and _automatically_
 reset it.
