#1524: NetworkManager doesn't work with mesh

I have two B3 machines here, OS build 406.
NetworkManager doesn't seem to let them use the mesh between each other.
The only way I can get the mesh to work is 'ifconfig eth0 down' -- at
which point it starts working (I can ping6 the other machine), but only
for a while -- NetworkManager seems to take it down again after a while.
So the only way I can get a _stable_ connection is to kill NetworkManager
on both machines, and make sure eth0 is down and msh0 is up.

This _ought_ to work just between machines without having to have a
 portal.

I'm really not sure why we have separate devices for eth0 and msh0,
especially when it seems that just having eth0 alive kills the operation
of msh0. Shouldn't we just have different modes for a single device?
