Comment:

 There were two causes to this problem:

 *the actual cable length was too short
 *the contacts on the cable from one of the keyboard vendors didn't extend
 all the way to the end of the cable

 Both of these should be fixed in the B3 build.  This ticket is being kept
 open until we verify that the problem has been fixed.
