#1433: Backlight can't be turned down well enough

When working in dark environments, it isn't possible to turn the backlight
down to a level that is hard to see. Since there is no way for the user
to turn down the backlight lower than its current minimum, the system is
burning more power than it ought to.

Also, there are only three brightness settings implemented. The "slider"
keys are supposed to produce seven settings by sliding your finger up and
down on those keys. At least, that's what the spec says, and there are
seven dots printed on the keyboard slider.

(There are also some confusing key logos on the B3 layout at
 [http://wiki.laptop.org/go/Image:Keyboard_english.jpg]: besides the
 slider for brightness,
there's also a "bright" key, a "dim" key, a "soft" key and a "loud" key in
 the right-hand slider
bar. These don't appear to be documented or implemented yet.)
